Information we collect

We collect information you choose to provide when you contact us, request catering or bakery services, or begin an online order. Depending on the request, that can include your name, email address, phone number, event details, pickup details, food preferences, and messages.

Order, payment, refund, and fulfillment information is processed through Square. We do not receive or store your complete payment-card number on this website.

If you choose to join our mailing list, we collect your email address and explicit email-marketing preference through this website. We record the subscription and welcome-offer state with the matching Square Customer and use Resend to deliver the requested welcome code. The website also uses a first-visit mailing-list prompt cookie for up to 90 days so it does not repeatedly show the same prompt.

Our hosting and security providers may receive limited technical information—such as IP address, browser type, requested pages, and timestamps—to deliver the site, prevent abuse, and diagnose errors. The cart may use browser storage or a cookie so it can be restored.

How we use information

We use information to respond to inquiries, prepare proposals, create and fulfill orders, communicate about pickup or event details, prevent fraud and misuse, maintain the website, and comply with legal and accounting obligations.

When you separately choose to join the mailing list, Ellington Catering may use that subscription to send weekly menus, seasonal specials, event inspiration, and occasional offers. Joining the mailing list is optional and is not required to place an order or submit an inquiry.

We do not sell or rent personal information. We do not use inquiry or order information for unrelated advertising without the permission required by law.

Service providers and links

We share information only as needed with providers that help operate the website and business, including Vercel for hosting, Square for ordering, payments, customer records, and mailing-list membership, and Resend for website email delivery. Those providers process information under their own terms and privacy notices.

The website also links to third-party sites such as WeddingWire. Their privacy practices apply after you leave this website.

Your choices

You may ask us to correct or delete information you submitted, subject to records we must retain for completed orders, contracts, taxes, fraud prevention, or other legal obligations.

You can stop marketing emails by using the unsubscribe option included in a marketing message. You may also contact us for help with your marketing preference. Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop receipts or important updates about an order you place.

Retention, security, and updates

We keep inquiry information only as long as reasonably necessary to respond and manage the relationship. Mailing-list information remains with Square Marketing while the subscription is active and as reasonably needed afterward to honor opt-outs and applicable recordkeeping obligations. The mailing-list prompt cookie expires after no more than 90 days. Square retains commerce records according to the settings and obligations associated with the Ellington Catering Square account.

No online system can guarantee absolute security, but we use reasonable technical and operational safeguards and limit payment handling to Square. This website is intended for adults arranging food or event services and is not directed to children.

We may update this policy as the website or its providers change. The date at the top identifies the current version.
